Obituary

John A. Scritchfield, 66, of Chambersburg, died October 6, 2011, in Hyndman, PA.

Born July 14, 1945, in Cumberland, MD; he was a son of the late Benjamin A. and Ruby Naomi (Oster) Scritchfield.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Kerstine L. (Smith) Scritchfield, whom he married April 11, 1983; daughters, Jill Frank of Cumberland and Sherry Adams of Raleigh, NC; a step son, Tyler Harold of Oxford, PA; a grandson, Stephen Shaffer, two step grandsons, Aidan and Evan Harold; brothers, G. Edward Scritchfield Sr. of Hyndman and Dennis G. Scritchfield of New Holland, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Scritchfield was the manager of contractor sales and assistant manager of the Chambersburg Lowes. He retired in 2003 after 18 years of service. He attended the Faith Community Church and was a member of numerous hunting and fishing clubs. He was a true lover of life.

There will be no viewing.

The family will hold a life remembrance at a later date.
