Obituary

Bedford, PA Dorothy Mae Sturm, 84, of Donahoe Manor, formerly of Fishertown, passed away Monday, September 24, 2012, at UPMC Bedford Hospital.

Born November 23, 1927, in Holly Meadows, WV; she was the only child of the late Claude and Ettie Sturm.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Miss. Sturm was a graduate of Parsons High School, Potomac State College and West Virginia University.

Miss. Sturm taught Home Economics at Greenhill High School for 10 years and at Chestnut Ridge High School for 20 years. She also taught History, Geography, General and Vocational Studies and managed the cafeteria for 7 years. She was an advisor for Future Homemakers of America, Tri Hi Y, and National Honor Society at Chestnut Ridge.
She was a member of Sloan’s Hollow United Methodist Church, Women’s Christian Teachers Union and PASR. She also did volunteer work for RSVP.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Thursday from 3 to 5 p.m.
Burial will be at Bethel Cemetery in Holly Meadows, WV.
