Obituary

Terry Lee Merkel, 68, of Hyndman, passed away Saturday, December 22, 2012, at his home.

Born November 12, 1944, in Cumberland; he was a son of the late Darris G. Sr. and Marian C. (Logsdon) Merkel.

He is survived by brothers, Darris “Butch” Merkel Jr. and wife Cecelia of Hyndman; Kenneth “Kenny” Merkel and wife Carol Sue of Ellerslie, MD; sisters, Judith A. Beals and husband Rholand of Hyndman; Mary Gray and husband Glenn of Ocala, FL and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Merkel served in the US Air Force during Vietnam. He went on to work for the Department of the Navy at the shipyard for over 30 years.

At the request of the deceased there will be no viewing.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
