Obituary

Frostburg, MD – Peggy A. Emerick, 86 of Frostburg, formerly of Ellerslie passed away Monday September 18, 2017, at WMHS Regional Medical Center
Born July 1, 1931 in Hyndman, PA; she was a daughter of the late Clifton H. and Nellie A. (Shroyer) Close. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Donald M. Emerick; two brothers, Charles Close of Hyndman and the Rev. Robert L Close of Lewisburg, PA and a sister, Betty L. Shaffer of Frostburg.
A homemaker, Peggy was a lifetime member of the Ellerslie United Methodist Church, where she was choir director and Sunday School teacher for many years. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women.
Peggy is survived by two sisters-in-law, Georgia Close of Hyndman and Leanna Lenhdorff of Media, PA. Peggy has a son, the Rev. Robert W. Emerick of Brooklyn, NY; three daughters, Susan K. Wolfe and husband Dr. John Wolfe of Corriganville, Ellen K. Alan and husband Roger J. Alan of Columbia, SC and Laurie K. Dennison and husband William P. Dennison of Cumberland; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She also had many special nieces, nephews and extended family and friend she loved very much.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
