Obituary

LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Phyllis “Jean” Thompson Kraizel, 82, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 4, 2018. She was born June 4, 1936 in Hyndman, PA, a daughter of the late Winfield C. Thompson and Mary H. McGregor Thompson.  Mrs. Kraizel was a Nanny and served many families in Pennsylvania and Florida.  She loved her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Belair Community Coffee Club.  Mrs. Kraizel was an active member of Belair United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Kraizel is survived by two daughters, Kim Keller and her husband, Mark Gaal, of Fort Lawn, SC and Kelly Graver and her husband, Matt Graver, of Devon, PA.; two grandchildren, Stephen and Sydney Graver of Devon, PA; a brother, Edward Thompson and his wife, Lana, of Wellersberg, PA; two sisters, Winnie Martz and her husband, Paul, and Elaine Logsdon and her husband, Terry, all of  Hydman, PA; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Peggy McDonald.
Mrs. Kraizel was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Howard Grove of Cumberland, MD., and Joseph Kraizel, of Bonita Springs, FL.; three brothers, Bill Thompson, Wayne Thompson, and Glenn Thompson, Sr.; and three sisters, Althea “Pete” Rowley, Kate Varner and Louise Martz.
The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Mrs. Kraizel will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at the Palo Alto United Methodist Church in Hyndman, PA, and will be officiated by Pastor Kenneth Haines. The burial will follow at the Palo Alto Hilltop Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the burial at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Palo Alto United Methodist Church, 1798 Hyndman Rd., Hyndman, PA 15545 or Belair United Methodist Church, 8095 Shelley Mullis Rd, Indian Land, SC 29707.
The family would like to extend a very special thanks to Providence Care Hospice and special staff members, Greta, Erica, Lavisa, Chaplin Carl, and Libby; and her wonderful caregivers, Rhonda Hull and Cathy Brice.
