Obituary

Nellie L. Emerick, 82, of Wellersburg, PA, passed away Thursday May 28, 2020 at UPMC Shadyside, Pittsburgh, PA.
Born January 26, 1938 in Barrellville, MD; she was a daughter of the late Irvin and Bertha (Kennell) Weimer. She was also preceded in death by her husband, D. Donald Emerick; a daughter, Linda Swickard; sister, Idella Clites; brothers, Irvin, Charles, Ken and Harold “Peck” Weimer.
Survived by daughters, Donna Schellhase and husband Stephen of Ridgeley, WV, Crystal Joy and husband Richard “Bill” of Cumberland; four grandchildren, Joe Rice, Crispin Swickard, Cody and Levi Joy; and a great grandson; sisters, Jean Lee of Ellerslie, Betty Fink of LaVale, Norma Swauger of Mt. Savage; brothers, Bob and Clyde Weimer of Ohio, Russ Weimer of Hyndman and Harvey Weimer of Winchester, VA and many nieces and nephews.
Nellie was a nursing assistant at Frostburg Hospital. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Mt. Savage. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was proud of her grandsons. Her family will remember her for sense of humor and her caring and loving nature.
Due to the current Covid-19 Pandemic the family will conduct the funeral service privately.
