Obituary

Ellerslie, MD – Gerald D. “Whitey” Printy, 82, of Ellerslie, MD passed away August 23, 2020 at UPMC Western Maryland.
Born November 25, 1937, in Cumberland; he was a son of the late Virgil E. Printy and Catherine L. (Barncord) Printy Orndorff. He was also preceded in death by a stepfather, Ralph Orndorff; wife, Helen V. (Youngblood) Printy, brothers, Lenwood, Richard, Robert, Paul, and Francis Printy; sisters, Mary Logue, Nancy See, Bonnie Ruby, infant sisters, Lois and Emma Printy.
Survived by a stepson, Chris George and wife Mary of Cumberland; stepgrandson, Lucas George; longtime friend, Virginia Clise and her daughter, Rhonda Roy and children Dylan and Cody Roy; a sister, Diane Glenn of Cresaptown and many nieces and nephews.
He was a graduate of Mt. Savage High School. He Served in the US Army.
Whitey was a bricklayer. He worked for Jake Bingman and Gary Cook. He was a life member of Kennells Mill Sportsmen’s Club and the Ellerslie Outdoor Club. He had a good heart and every month would donate to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. where a funeral service will follow at 8 p.m. with Pastor Ken Korns officiating.
Burial will be private at Sunset Memorial Park.
