Obituary

Charles H “Chuck” Gibbons Sr. ,85, of Buffalo Mills passed away peacefully on October 14, 2024.
He was born May 19, 1939 in Central City, the son of the late Charles and Ruth (Bracken) Gibbons. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Wilda Hillegass and
brothers Richard Ling, Neil Gibbons, Larry Gibbons, and James Gibbons.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Gloria (Deneen) Gibbons, to whom he was married on November 22, 1958. He is also survived by daughter Charlene Mohr and husband George, of Mount Joy; son Charles H. Gibbons Jr. and wife, Donna, of Buffalo Mills; and daughter Carla Poland and husband Chris, of Bedford; grandchildren, Eric Gibbons and wife Michele, Stephanie Zimmerman and husband Cody, Brian Gibbons and wife Rachel, and Mia Poland; great-grandchildren, Dexter, Connor, Chase, Reagan, Damon, Annalea and Audrey.
He attended Shade High School and then went to work in construction and as an Ironworker. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who will be missed by his many friends in the hunting and fishing community. He was a proud vegetable gardener, loved mushroom hunting, and any outdoor activity. He enjoyed spending time with his family, always attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and other activities.
