Obituary

Hyndman, PA – Glenna J. (Rizer) Leydig, 89, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, May 2, 2025, at UPMC Altoona.

Born April 23, 1936, in Bedford County; she was a daughter of the late Charles and Frances (Stair) Rizer. Also preceded in death by her husband, James S. Leydig, whom she married August 31, 1957; and a sister, Darlene Carter.

Survived by sons, Jeff Leydig and wife Cheri of Walkersville, MD, Dale Leydig and wife Kim of Hagerstown, MD, Jimmy Leydig and wife Patti of Hyndman, Derek Leydig and wife Jodi of Port Matilda, PA; brothers, Jack Rizer of Greensburg, Terry Rizer of Florida; nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Glenna was a 1953 graduate of Hyndman High School. She graduated from New Mexico Board of Nursing where she earned her RN degree. She retired from Sacred Heart Hospital after over 25 years of service.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She enjoyed going to the beach, ball games, family picnics, cooking and baking. She was a Pittsburgh sports fan and enjoyed watching the TV show NCIS.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. where a funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Rod Spiker officiating.

Burial will follow at Hyndman Cemetery

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Grace United Methodist Church.
