Ray H. “Bunny” Weaverling, 78, of Hyndman, PA, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday September 24 at 4:34 A.M. at WMHS, due to a long-fought battle with cancer.  He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family.

Ray was born July 1, 1941, in Hopewell, PA; a son of Earl H and Alvia (Hughes) Weaverling, who preceded him in death.  Also preceded in death are siblings:  Earl, Alvinia, Leda, Ricky, Jimmy; and a grandson, Aeron.

Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Lois Jean (Burkett), whom he married March 29, 1962; children, Cathy Shoemaker and spouse Floyd of Hyndman, Ray “Chip” Weaverling and spouse Dena (Ogden) of Lavale Md, Michael “Mickey” Weaverling and spouse Angela (Campbell) of Hyndman;  grandchildren,  Adam Shoemaker and wife Toshia, Kattie Shoemaker and fiancé Brandon Gonzales, Cody Weaverling and spouse Nicole, Mikala Weaverling, Brittany Weitzell and spouse David, Brandi Weaverling;  great grandchildren,  Ayla, Aura, Braylie, Natalie, Cameryn, Landon, Harper.  Surviving siblings Martha Whitford of Hyndman, Freida Turner of Bedford, Larry Weaverling of Port Orange, Florida; and his two faithful dogs, Susie and Tusdee

Ray was of Christian faith.  During his life, he worked as a pipefitter at the Celanese Corporation from 1967-1975, and a master plumber and electrician for 28 years at Cumberland Memorial Hospital until he retired.  He was a member of Kennels Mill Sportsman Club as well as Buffalo Run Rod and Gun club.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Thursday, September 26, 2019 from 6 to 9 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, September 27, 2019 at 1 p.m. with Reverend Bruce McBride and Pastor Terry Elliot officiating.  Visitation one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow at Hyndman Cemetery. Pallbearers will be sons Chip and Mickey, son-in-law, Floyd, grandsons, Adam and Cody, and nephew, Delford “Buck” Burkett.
