Agnes L. “Bunch” Johnston
Hyndman, PA – Agnes L. “Bunch” Johnston, 91, of Hyndman passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at WMHS Regional Medical Center.
Born January 28, 1921 in Sharpsburg, MD; she was a daughter of the late John and Eva (Bender) Knode. She is also preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, James D. Johnston; sisters, Dorothy Williams, Mildred Remsburg, and Anna Sperow; brothers, William, Ellis and Roland Knode.
She is survived by children, James L. Johnston and wife, Martha Jane of Dunn, NC; Bobby W. Johnston and wife, Barbara of Coco Beach, FL; Suzanne Emerick and husband Steve of Hyndman; Jan S. Johnston and wife Barbara of Titusville, FL; brothers, Robert and David Knode both of Hagerstown, special sister-in-law, Helen Lehman of Bedford; and 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and her dog, Candi.
Mrs. Johnston was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Hyndman; United Methodist Women, Order of Eastern Star, Bedford Springs Chapter 41, and the Hyndman Senior Citizens.
Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 10 to 11 at First United Methodist Church, 1st Ave., Hyndman.
A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 1st Ave., Hyndman with Rev. Kenneth Haines and Rev. Beverly Roscoe, officiating.
Burial will follow at Hyndman Cemetery.
