Obituary

Elizabeth City, NC – Carol Ann (Crawford) Bowser Freeland, 71, formerly of Norfolk, VA, went to be with the Lord on July 1, 2013 at the home of her daughter.

Born June 5, 1942, in Hyndman, PA; she was a daughter of the late William Sr. and Goldie R. (Emerick) Crawford. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ray Franklin Bowser in 1968; and a brother, Roger Crawford.

Survived by a daughter, Tammy Knight and husband Jason of Elizabeth City NC; sons, Keith Freeland of Norfolk, Jamie Freeland and wife Andrea of Tacoma, WA, eight grandchildren, David and Jeremiah Sole, Keith and Kyle Freeland all of Norfolk, VA , Abbigale, Audrey, Alan and Adam Freeland, all of Tacoma, WA; brother, William Crawford Jr. and wife Alvina of The Villages, FL; sister-in-law, Sharon Crawford of Buffalo Mills, PA.

Carol was a graduate of the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf in 1961. She worked at the Recycling Factory at Norfolk Naval Base. She was also a seamstress. She attended the Deaf Missionary Church, Norfolk, VA.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Friday from 12 to 2 pm where a funeral service will follow at 2p.m.

Burial will follow at Comps Cemetery.
