Dorothy L. “Dottie” Smith

Fossilville, PA – Dorothy L. “Dottie” Smith, 72, of Fossilville, PA, died Wednesday, January 17, 2012 at Bon Secours Hospital, Altoona, PA.

Born January 16, 1940, in Fossilville; she was a daughter of the late Walter Harry and Amanda E. (Waugerman) Shroyer. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ray William “Buck” Smith in 2002.

She is survived by two sons, Ray A. “Butch” Smith, of Fossilville, and Darrell L. Smith and wife Teresa (Eshelman), of Fossilville; a daughter, Rhonda R. Malia and husband Joe of Fairhope; four grandchildren, Stacey Shriner, Shayla and T.J. Minnick, and Andrew Smith; two great grandchildren, Colton and Aaron Shriner; and a sister, Faye Herline of Manns Choice.

Dottie had worked at Bedford Steam Laundry, Footer Cleans and LaVale Dry Cleaners. She enjoyed playing BINGO with her many friends, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 am with Pastor Nathan Elliott officiating.

Burial will follow at Madley Cemetery, Buffalo Mills, PA.
