Obituary

Altoona, PA Freda Kathryn Riggleman, 94, formerly of Barrellville, MD, passed away Wednesday July 11, 2012, at Valley View Nursing Home, Altoona.

Born January 18, 1918 in Old Fields, WV; she was a daughter of the late Seymour and Mary Susan (Ours) Weatherholt. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ellsworth L. Riggleman; a son, Robert E. Riggleman; and several brothers and sisters.

She is survived by a daughter, Norma Wilson and husband Elmer of Altoona, sons, James E. Riggleman and wife Colleen of Corriganville, William R. Riggleman and wife Bonnie of Barrellville; nine grandchildren, Kathy (Tom) Gates, Cindy (Billy) Shaffer, Don (Julie) Wolford Jr., James L. Riggleman, Nicole (Dan) Stevens, Rhonda (Ryan) Ranker, Tammy (J.R.) Metzner, William (Amanda) Riggleman Jr., and Michael Riggleman, 13 great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter; a sister, Madaline Hahn of Westminster, MD, and a sister-in-law, Christina Snyder of Harbor Heights, FL.

Mrs. Riggleman worked at the Celanese and at various local sewing factories. She was a member of Mt. Savage United Methodist Church, Mt. Savage Homemakers Club and a past member of the Frostburg Moose Lodge.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Saturday from 12 to 2 p.m. where a funeral service will follow at 2 pm with Rev. Otis Weatherholt officiating.

Burial will follow at Mt. Savage United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Riggleman’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
