Obituary

Joseph W. Lafferty, 81, of Buffalo Mills, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.

Born June 19, 1928 in Buffalo Mills, PA, he was a son of the late Lester E. and Veda (Miller) Lafferty. He was also preceded in death by a grandson-in-law, Steven Engle.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Helen L. (Ringler) Lafferty, whom he married December 19, 1947; a son, Donald Lafferty and wife, Debra of Buffalo Mills; a daughter, Janet Miller and husband, George of Hyndman; grandchildren, Heather Berkey and husband, Jeff of Buffalo Mills, Jeff Lafferty and wife, Crystal of Hyndman, Holly Stair and husband, Justin of Hyndman and Heidi Engle of Fairhope; brothers, Melvin Lafferty, Fred Lafferty and wife, Mona Lee all of Buffalo Mills, Homer Lafferty and wife, Roxann of Hyndman; a sister, Dorothy Keller of Bedford; and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Lafferty retired after 30 years of service from the Pennsylvania Game Commission where he was a foreman for the food and cover corps. He was a member of the Central Christian Church.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
