Obituary

Lillian Violet “Sis” (Kiser) Emerick, 87, of Hyndman went to be with the Lord, Sunday, September 26, 2010, at WMHS Regional Medical Center.

Born December 31, 1922, in Gooseberry, PA; she was a daughter of the late Samuel John and Barbara Ellen (Deneen) Kiser. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Earl L. Emerick Sr.; a son, Gary Emerick; brothers, John Sr., Albert, Virgle, Harry, Walter, and Melvin Kiser; sisters, Helen Kiser, Grace Grenke, Bertha Sisler, Anna Belle Garlock, and May Bryant.

She is survived by children, Bill O’Neal and wife Janet of Ellerslie, MD, Earl L. “June” Emerick Jr. and wife Eileen; Gloria Jean Leydig and husband Fay; Ron R. Emerick; Linda Figard all of Hyndman; 15 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. Emerick had worked at the Celanese, Barefoot Shoe Factory, DeHaven’s and Emerick’s Tavern. She was also the manager of D. Hitchin Post Bar & Restaurant for 22 years.

Friends will be received at the Bible Gospel Church, Hyndman Rd, Buffalo Mills on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the church on Wednesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Fay E. Leydig, officiating.

Burial will follow at Hyndman Cemetery, Hyndman, with Vince O’Neal, Tyler Emerick, Jerry Leydig, Steve Leydig, Chris Spataro and Bobbie Merkel serving as pallbearers.
