Obituary

Robert Edward “Bob” Kennell, 81, of Cumberland, went home to be with the Lord Saturday October 20, 2012 at WMHS Regional Medical Center.

Born February 1, 1931 in Southampton Township, Kennells Mill, PA, he was a son of the late James and Pauline (Shroyer) Kennell.

He was also preceded in death by brothers James and Paul Kennell, along with several other family members.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sylvia Jean (Shumaker) Kennell, whom he married June 16, 1957, at the Ellerslie United Methodist Church; a daughter Bobbi Jean Mihailovich and husband, Richard of Cumberland, a son, Lorne Kennell and wife Valerie of Fort Ashby, WV; grandsons, Kevin Mihailovich, Brian Mihailovich and wife Ariel; granddaughters, Victoria Kennell , Holly Kennell and fianc, William Dicken, Jr.; great granddaughter, Arianna Mihailovich; a brother Roy Kennell and wife Linda; sisters, Pauline Leister and husband Ron, Ruth Emerick and husband Earl all of Kennells Mill, Evelyn Sue Corley of Hyndman, and Ruby Moore of Lewes, DE, along with several sisters and brothers in law and nieces and nephews.

Bob was an Army veteran of the Korean War. After returning home he was self employed as a school bus contractor from 1955-1966. He was an employee of the Celanese Fiber Company until 1983.
He retired from the Finan Center in 1995 after 10 years of service.

Bob was a charter member of the Calvary Bible Church in Ellerslie.

Friends will be received at the Calvary Bible Church, North Gardner Street, Ellerslie on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the church on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Greg Miller officiating

Burial will follow at Comps Cemetery, Kevin and Brian Mihailovich, Ralph Isiminger, Terry Leister, Justin Hardinger and William Dicken, Jr. will serve as pallbearers.

Military honors by the Cumberland Post 13 Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Calvary Bible Church.
