Obituary

Betty Delores (Shroyer) Sheirer, 90 of Hyndman, PA went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 2, 2026 at Bedford Post Acute surrounded by her family.

Born October 13, 1935, in (Stringtown) Londonderry Township, Bedford County, she was a daughter of the late Bruce R Shroyer and Mabel D (Logsdon) Shroyer. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Harold C. (Buck) Sheirer, brother Elmo (Joby) Logsdon, sister Shirley (Logsdon) Fichtner, daughter Donna Mae Sheirer and grandson Douglas Edward Sheirer.

Betty attended Hyndman High School. She worked for several companies such as Fairfoot Shoe Company in Bedford, PA and Warnaco in Altoona, PA throughout the years but spent most of her life being a housewife, Mother and Nana to her beloved family.

She is survived by the following children: Linda (Nicodemus) Steele of  Imler, PA, Rhonda Walter of Hyndman, PA, Debra Lafferty and husband Donald of Buffalo Mills, PA and Douglas and wife Joann Sheirer of Kennell’s Mill, Hyndman, PA; grandchildren Brian (Misty) Nicodemus, Alum Bank, PA; Shawn (Jennifer) Nicodemus, Osterburg, PA; and Chad (Marissa) Nicodemus, Imler, PA, Martin (Aleasia) Walter and Jason Walter, both of Hyndman, PA; Angela Koch (George), Bedford, PA; Joshua Williams, Buffalo Mills, PA and Theresa (Cory) Murin, Hyndman, PA and 25 great and 11; great-great grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and many friends.

Her entire life revolved around her family. Her pictures and photo albums meant everything to her. Being a Mother then a Nana brought great joy to this special lady’s life. She was dearly loved by everyone that knew her and was either known as Mom or Nana to all of them. She quickly became a favorite to the staff at Bedford Post Acute. They loved her smile and she would wave at them and tell them she loved them. She will be greatly missed by all of her loved ones.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Monday, October 5, 2026, from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm with Pastor Kenneth Korns officiating.

Interment will follow at Comps Cemetery, Southampton, PA
