Hyndman, PA – Charles A. “Red” Harclerode, 80, of Hyndman passed away Sunday July 17, 2016 at Winchester Medical Center.
Born January 29, 1936 in Neffsville, PA; he was a son of the late Charles E. “Sike” and Edith (Davey) Harclerode. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Carole J. Hall.
Survived by his wife of 53 years, Ruth (Rexrode) Harclerode whom he married, August 3, 1962; a son, Mark Harlcerode and wife Sara of Yellow Spring, WV and a niece, Stacy.
Mr. Harclerode served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a school teacher for many years. He taught at Shanksville, PA, Columbia Street School in Cumberland and at the Hyndman Elementary School retiring in 1996. He also coached basketball and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior.
Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale, MD. Military Honors by the Cumberland Post 13 Honor Guard
