Obituary

David G. Shaffer, 67, Hedgesville W.V., passed away August 25, 2026. Born June 14, 1959, to Robert G. and Nellie (Gaumer) Shaffer. He was preceded in death by his mother, Nellie Shaffer; brothers, James C. and Gregory C. Shaffer.

He was survived by his wife Julie (Humbertson) Shaffer; children, Kristia (Brian) Bard, Saira (Garrett) Campbell, and David T. Shaffer; brother, Robert C. Shaffer; 10 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

David was the owner operator of Shaffer Masonry “The Tile Man” where he worked until he retired. He enjoyed the outdoors and fishing. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He was known as being humble and kind. Dave put God family and country first and considered his friends as family.

At David’s request there will not be any services at this time. However, there will be a celebration of life at a later time. Arrangements are entrusted to the Harvey H. Zeigler funeral Home.
