Obituary

Meyersdale, PA Doris J. Smith, 81, of Meyersdale, went to be with the Lord, Monday, September 26, 2011, at WMHS Regional Medical Center, Cumberland, MD.

Born May 1, 1930, in Southampton Twp., Somerset County; she was a daughter of the late Allen E. and Mayme (Smith) Troutman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Oscar F. Smitty Smith in 2007; a brother, Robert Troutman; sisters, Gladys G. Korns and Phyllis Troutman.

She is survived by three sisters, Elva L. Long, Mary Lee Bowman and Carol E. Troutman all of Meyersdale; two brothers, Harold E. Troutman and wife Ella Jean and John J. Troutman and wife Harriet both of Hyndman; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Smith was a 1947 graduate of Meyersdale High School and Catherman s Business School. She was retired from Cumberland Blouse Factory. She was previously worked at Meyersdale Shirt Factory. She was an active member of Calvary Bible Church, Ellerslie for 43 years, where she taught junior church and was the chairman of the funeral meals committee.

Friends will be received at Calvary Bible Church, Ellerslie, MD, Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the Church on Friday at 11a.m. with Pastor Ken Korns and Pastor Greg Miller officiating.

Burial will follow at Cook s Cemetery, Wellersburg, PA

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Cook s Cemetery to help with the mowing expenses or to Calvary Bible Church.
