Obituary

Hyndman, PA – Doris W. Zimmerman of Hyndman, PA passed away on January 25, 2018, just shy of her 92nd birthday at Frostburg Village.
She was the daughter of the late Guy A. and Nita E. (Shaffer) Cook. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Guy Cook and wife Wilma, Ray Cook and wife Alice.
Doris is survived by her husband of 70 years, Paul Zimmerman, whom she married on August 6, 1947; two daughters, Vicki D. Printy and husband James of Staunton, VA and Corinne S. Macdonald and husband Thomas of Milford, CT. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Adam Printy and wife Kristen, Erin Printy and wife Becky, Justin Macdonald and wife Michelle, and Ryan Macdonald. She was also blessed with 4 great grandchildren, Ashton, Ethan, Julia, and Ian.
Doris graduated from Meyersdale High School and Catherman’s Business School. She has been a long time resident of Hyndman, PA. She worked at Allegany Ballistics Laboratory (now Alliant Techsystems, Inc.) for 33 years. Doris was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary to Oscar Jordan Post VFW 7375. A Protestant by faith, she is a member of First United Methodist Church in Hyndman.
Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 2 pm with Rev. David Klink officiating.
Burial will follow at Hyndman Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church.
