Obituary

Ellerslie, MD – Keith M. Johnson, 79, of Ellerslie, MD went to be with the Lord Friday July 22, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born April 23, 1943 in Cumberland; he was a son of the late Robert Donald Sr. and Alzine I. (Leydig) Johnson. He was also preceded in death by a brother Bob Johnson; father and mother-in-law, Eugene and Colleen Hite, brothers-in-law, Larry and Bob Hite; sister-in-law, Karen Hite.
Survived by his wife of 58 years, Beverly (Hite) Johnson; children, Michelle Fritts and husband Nathan of Wake Forest, NC, Brian Johnson and wife Karen of Welcome, NC, five grandchildren, Travis and Nicholas Fritts; Emma, Benjamin, and Riley Johnson; special niece, Jalen Hite; brother-in-law, Roger L. Hite and wife, Patty (Shoemaker), Ellerslie, MD, sister-in-law, Diane H. Riggin and husband, Tim, Port Charlotte, FL., sister-in-law, Martha Johnson, Ellerslie, MD, brother Bill Johnson and wife Sonya, Hyndman, PA; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Keith was a graduate of Mount Savage High School. He retired from Sears after 35 years. He and his wife were part owners of J & S Furniture with close friends Glen and Sheila Shaffer in LaVale, MD. He was a member of Ellerslie United Methodist Church where he served as Administrative Board Chairperson, Chair of Social Concerns, and taught Sunday school. He enjoyed any opportunity to be with family and friends, golfing, snow skiing, Pittsburgh Pirates Baseball and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.
Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Tuesday July 26, 2022, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday July 27, 2022, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Tomislav Dosch officiating. Viewing one hour prior.
Burial will follow at Lybarger Cemetery, Madley PA.
