Obituary

Hyndman, PA – Marcia E. Thompson, 79, of Hyndman went to be with the Lord Friday January 12, 2018.
Born March 29, 1938 in Jane Lew, WV; she was a daughter of the late Gilbert and Martha (McWhorter) Saeler. She was also preceded in death by her husband, David “Bill” Thompson in 1988; and a brother, John Saeler.
Survived by a son, William Thompson and wife Sherri; a daughter, Sheri Martz and husband Scott all of Hyndman; three grandchildren, Dylan and Blake Martz and Morgan Thompson; a brother, Charles Saeler and wife Julia of Ellerslie; sister, Margaret Burkett of Frederick, a sister-in-law, Gen Saeler of Jane Lew, WV; several nieces and nephews; and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law.
Marcia worked for Dr. Iames in Cumberland as a secretary for 40 years. She was a member of the Ellerslie United Methodist Church and volunteered at the Allegany Museum.
Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Sandy Hetz Burchell officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow at Palo Alto Hilltop Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Ellerslie United Methodist Church.
