Obituary

Wellersburg, PA – Richard M. Witt, 91, of Wellersburg passed away December 20, 2024, at UPMC Altoona.

Born August 17, 1933, in Wellersburg; he was a son of the late Marshal and Nellie (Emerick) Witt. Also preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Shirley “Liz” (Cessna) Witt; infant daughter, Carla Jean Witt; a granddaughter, Jennifer Ann Witt, a sister Elsie Hilliard and fur baby, Molly

Survived by a son, Richard Witt and wife Bonnie of Mt. Savage; two daughters, Karen Woods and husband William, Laurie Sechriest and husband Philip all of Wellersburg; six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and two step great grandchildren.

Mr. Witt served in the US Army and was stationed in Germany. He worked for Whitehead Outdoor Advertising for many years. He enjoyed working and rebuilding tractors, model T’s, chasing the WMSR trains from Cumberland to Frostburg, spending time with his granddaughter, Lanie, in Georgia. He spent winter months in Florida with his daughter and son-in-law. Going to tractor shows with his grandson-in-law, David Crabtree. He enjoyed NASCAR and Chase Elliott was his favorite driver. He loved scratch off tickets and his 2 fur babies, Ruby and Toby.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Monday December 23, 2024, from 10 to 11 a.m. where a funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Ken Korns officiating.

Burial will follow at Cooks Cemetery. Military honors by the Ft Bedford Honor Guard.
