Obituary

Gable, Shelby Jean “Shelly”, 87, Cresaptown, passed October 27, 2025. Born September 1, 1938, to the late Edward and Sara (Custer) Thomas. She is also preceded in death by son, Jeffery Clites, sisters, Eleanor Stair and Roberta Boland.

Shelby is survived by her loving husband of 50 years John Gable. She is also survived by children, Marilyn Rowley and Shane Clites (Denna Beagle); stepchildren, Paul Clites Johnny Raven; grandchildren, Jason Clites, Marcus, Blake and Chance Rowley, and Jessica Clites; great grandchildren, Achilles Rowley, Gianna Williams, Videl Rowley; sisters, Dolly Brown and Leetta Smith and numerous nieces and nephews.

Shelby loved to bake cakes and catering for weddings and anniversaries. She also loved shopping and collecting dolls and was a member of the Hyndman Senior citizens. She also really enjoyed her family time. The family would like to thank UPMC Western Maryland Hospice and special thanks to Theresa Deitz, Arreon Paige, and Kimberly Leighman.

Family will receive friends on Friday October 31, 2025, from 2p.m. to 4p.m. and then again 6p.m. to 8p.m. and a funeral service will be held on November 1, 2025, at 11a.m. at Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home at 169 Clarence Street Hyndman, PA 15545. Pastor Terry Campbell will be officiating. Arrangements entrusted to Harvey H. Zeigler Home.
