Obituary
Terry W. Logsdon age 76 of Hyndman, PA was received into the arms of the Lord on November 15, 2024 after battling ALS.
Born on March 22, 1948 to the late Leo and Betty (Hendershot) Logsdon. He was preceded in death by his parents and several sister–in–laws and brother–in–laws. On May 19, 1968 he married the love of his life Helen E. Thompson. They were married for 56 years.
In addition to his wife he is survived by daughters Heather (Ronnie) Winters and Tiffany (Tim) Kennell, grandchildren Kendra (Travis) Jewell, Joseph (Kourtney) Winters, Reese Kennell (Autumn Adams) and Kameron Kennell (Allie Creegan), great–grandchildren Holden and Chesney Jewell and Dawson Winters. Sisters Carol Harvey and Jennifer (Lou) Bascelli, brothers Ronnie (Susie) Logsdon and Mike (Bonnie) Logsdon, brother- in–laws Ed (Lana) Thompson and Paul Martz and sister–in–law Shirley Witt. His grandchildren and great–grandchildren were his most precious and best gifts from God. He was always their biggest fan and very proud of all of their accomplishments. Terry served in the Navy from 1968 to 1970 and was a very proud veteran. He retired from Martin’s Market as a meat cutter. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He passed down his life long passion of hunting to his grandsons. He often referred to himself as the “Legend” because of his hunting accomplishments during his lifetime. He enjoyed photography, scrapbooking, building guns and carving antlers. He loved spending time with the breakfast gang at Hobo’s. He was an active member of Palo Alto Church and Kennells Mill Sportsman Club.
Terry never met a stranger and spoke to everyone he came in contact with and never had a negative word about anyone. His contagious smile and upbeat personality would light up a room. He will be missed beyond measure. He was the best husband, dad, pap, pappy T and father–in–law to his family.
He formed a special bond with his caregivers Kelly, Paige, Tammy, Darla, Crystal, Kim and sister Jennifer. We would like to thank them for the wonderful and compassionate care during his illness. We would also like to thank Dr. Patty Sheetz, the ALS clinic and the VA of Altoona for their support and care.
In lieu of flowers you may donate to the James E Van Zandt VA Medical Center, Voluntary Service Program, 2907 Pleasant Valley Boulevard Second Floor, Altoona, PA 16602, the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 7585516, Topeka, KS 66675 or the ALS Clinic at WVU School of Medicine, 1 Stadium Dr. 3rd Floor Eye Institute, Morgantown, WV 26506.
