Obituary

Violet Agnes Shroyer, 94, formally of Hyndman, passed away July 21, 2026. Born June 21, 1932, to the late Walter and Esther (Baer) Deneen. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Rolland Stair and Harry Lee Shroyer; brothers, Bruce, Leanard, Richard, Walter, Leroy “Boots”, Robert and Clarence Deneen; sisters, Lois Smith and Anna Meyer.

She was Survived by her children, Linda (Dennis) Scritchfield and Rolland Stair; grandchildren, Greg (Jennifer) Scritchfield and Derinda (Todd) Burns; six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Violet liked helping out and being at the Hyndman Senior Citizens Center, have a heart games (Senior Olympics). She was a cook at Hyndman Elementary School 26 years. Most of all she loved her family and sending time with them. Family will receive friends on Monday July 27, 2026, from 11am. until time of service at 2 pm. at the Havery H. Zeigler Funeral Home, 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman, PA 15545. Pastor Rodney Spiker will be officiating, and interment will be at the Palo Alto Hilltop Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home.
