Hyndman, PA – Robert S. Burkett, 79, of Hyndman went to be with the Lord Friday April 20, 2018 at WMHS Regional Medical Center.

Born March 23, 1939 in Hyndman; he was a son of the late David and Mabel (Campbell) Burkett;

Survived by his wife of 61 years, Norma (Smith) Burkett, whom he married October 23, 1956; a son, Robert David Burkett and Sarah Jones of Cresaptown; daughters, Mary Marie Yorke and husband Michael, Christine Loraine Snyder and husband Robert Sr both of Hyndman; grandchildren, Shauna Burkett, Shelby Burkett, Jessica Minnick and husband Travis, Sarah Jarrett and husband Kristopher, Kayla Jarrett and husband John, Cody Murray and fiancé Shania Carnell, Elizabeth Snyder and Doug Diehl, Robby Snyder and Taylor Pensyl and Daniel Snyder; great grandchildren, Kamden, Kallen, Tristan, Austin, Kyleigh, Braelynn, Ella, Ezra, Addie, Macy and Delayne; brothers and sisters, Wayne Burkett and wife Shirley of Fossilville, Sharon Kiser of Hyndman, John Burkett and wife Christine of Bedford, Beverly Huffman and husband Newt of Hyndman; Ray Burkett and wife Jeanna of Buffalo Mills, Jimmie Burkett of Hyndman and many nieces and nephews.

Bob was a mechanic and worked for many years at Stahlman’s and Spiker’s Garages in Hyndman.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Wednesday From 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home Thursday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Terry Campbell officiating.

Burial will follow at Hyndman Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the funeral home to help the family defer the cost.
