Centreville, PA – Barry Dean Gooden, 76, Centreville, went to be with the Lord March 21, 2019 at WMHS.

Born December 24, 1942 on 1604 Manhattan St. in Pittsburgh, PA; a son of the late James Ollie Gooden and Elizabeth Kathryn (Robb) Gooden.  Also preceded in death by three brothers, Kenneth Irvin, James Ray Jr., and Tommy Orbin.

Survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Margaret (Bryant) Gooden, whom he married June 18, 1961; daughters, Mary Fay (Gooden) Cannon and husband, Michael A. Cannon II, Cumberland, Kelly Lynn (Gooden) Logsdon and husband, Danny E. Logsdon, Hyndman, three grandsons, Jason Cannon, Joshua Cannon, and Andrew Croston, a granddaughter, Kendall (Cannon) Thayer, six great granddaughters, one great grandson, a special “daughter”, Brenda Moskey, Hyndman, and a special niece, Deana Bryant Emerick, Cumberland.  Also survived by a sister and two brothers-in-law, Donald Bryant, Hyndman, and Wayne Bryant, Middlesex, NC.

Barry graduated from Berlin Brothers Valley Joint High School in 1960.  He was a self-educated mechanic and auto-body repairman.  He was A.S.E. Certified.  His many years of employment included Penn Mar Motors, G&S Motors, and Campbell Chevrolet, LaVale, MD.  His last place of employment was Grove, Chambersburg, PA.  Barry enjoyed country and doo-wop music.  His favorite singer was George Jones.  He liked working on cars and his prized collection of model trains.  Barry attended Central Assembly Church, Cumberland.  He was the best dad anyone could ever have.  His absence will leave a big hole in our family.  We love you, dad.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home Monday at 11 a.m. with Chaplain Paul Demers officiating.

Burial will follow at Hyndman Cemetery, with Andrew Croston, Dan Logsdon, Josh Cannon, Michael Cannon, Ben Grimm and Earl Robinette serving as pallbearers.
