Kennells Mill, PA – Chester E. Emerick, 87, went to be with the Lord Wednesday November 27, 2013 at Donahoe Manor, Bedford, PA
Born March 14, 1926 in Southampton Twp., Somerset County; he was a son of the late Clarence B. and Saloma V. (Clites) Emerick. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Doris G. (Shroyer) Emerick, an infant daughter, Bonnie Jane Emerick; brothers, John, Ray and Leo Emerick; sisters, Blanche Ohler, Lillie Osborne, Eva Emrick, and Annie Deneen.
Mr. Emerick was a US Navy Veteran serving in WWII. He worked for the Rail Road for many years. He was a member of Comps Church and a founding member of the Kennells Mill Sportsmen’s Club.
He is survived by sisters, Ilene Kennell, of Hyndman, Ruby Shroyer of Cumberland, brothers, Vernon Emerick of Hyndman, Curtis Emerick of Lewes, Delaware; many nieces and nephews.; a brother-in-law, Leroy “Boots” Deneen of Kennells Mill; sisters-in-law, Wilda Emerick, Darlene Shroyer of Hyndman, Marlene Hosselrode, Alice Troutman, Alice Cummins and Bev Shroyer all of Kennells Mill.; and a special care giver and best friend, Linda Miller of Hyndman.
Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Sunday at Comps Church from 1 to 2 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at Comps Church on Sunday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Roger Huffman and Rev. Ken Korns officiating.
Burial will follow at Comps Cemetery
