Darlene N. Kiser Lowery
Hyndman, PA – Darlene N. Kiser Lowery, 72, of Hyndman, died Friday, November 22, 2013, at Pennknoll Village.
Born November 17, 1941, in Fairhope, PA; she was a daughter of the late Raymond G. and Iola E. (Close) Shaffer. She was also preceded in death by husbands, Lewis William Kiser Sr. in 1975 and Donald J. Lowery in 1990; and a brother, Richard “Dick” Close.
Survived by children, Dorothy Pichura and husband Alan of Hyndman; Barbara Ford of Corriganville, MD; Lewis W. Kiser Jr. and wife Veronica; Dawn McCoy and husband Donald J. all of Hyndman; eight grandchildren, Shaun, Dale, Michael, Douglas, Penny, Christina, Samuel, and Ashley; great grandchildren, Jordan, Makalah, Christian, and Gavin; sisters, Elaine Shaffer and friend Robert Ranker of Hyndman; Joyce Holler and husband James of Elkin, WV, brothers, Woodrow Shaffer and wife Peggy of Martinsburg, WV, Kenneth Shaffer of Somerset County, and many nieces and nephews.
Darlene had worked at the Fairfoot Shoe Factory, S. Schwab Company and Frostburg Village Nursing Home. She was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God; Hyndman Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and Hyndman Senior Citizens.
Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 11a.m. with Pastor Terry Elliott officiating.
Burial will follow at Hyndman Cemetery.
