Obituary

Hyndman, PA – Delmar F. “Del” Biller, 85, of Hyndman went to be with the Lord, Tuesday September 28, 2010 at his home.

Born March 13, 1925 in Mathias, WV; he was a son of the late Glen G. and Bessie (Seldon) Biller. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald Biller; and a sister Doreen Strawderman.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Irma Jean (Shaffer) Biller, whom he married August 14, 1976; a son, Pastor Brent Biller and wife, Saundra of Ridgley, WV; daughters, Karla Sparber and husband, Andrew of Cumberland, Kathy Kennedy and husband, Michael of Hagerstown, MD, Deb Close and husband, Jerry of Hyndman, a sister, Betty May and husband, Everett of Bergton, VA; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Mr. Biller was a truck driver for Kaiser Refractories for 26 years and then for Walter N. Yoder & Sons, where he retired.

He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church and served on many church boards. He also served on the boards of Hyndman Area Rescue Squad, Hyndman Area Health Center, Hyndman Camp Meeting Association, Salvation Army and the Hyndman Borough Counsel. He was a former Mayor of Hyndman, a member of the Gideons International and Lay Witness Missions. For many years he was the M.C. of Hyndman Londonderry Lions Club Hee Haw Show.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at Grace United Methodist Church, Schellsburg St., Hyndman on Friday at 1 p.m. with Rev. Lance Tucker, Rev. David Klink and Pastor Brent Biller officiating.

Burial will follow at Hyndman Cemetery with his grandsons, Bob Biller, Zach Sparber, Michael McCullough, Jeremy Close, Dustin Close, and Mike McCullough serving as pallbearers.
