Elmer Junior Ranker, 85 of Buffalo Mills, PA, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2011, at Pennknoll Village Nursing Home, Everett, PA.

He was born October 24, 1926, in Buffalo Mills; he was a son of the late Elmer C. and Maggie E. (Bingman) Ranker. He was married to the late, Marlene F. Miller. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Clarence, Chester and Donald Ranker; and a sister, Irene Ranker.

Mr. Ranker is survived by a daughter, Carolyn L. Pyle and husband Dennis of Berlin; a son, D. Michael Ranker and wife Kelly (Pearcy) of Buffalo Mills; three grandchildren, Josh Dawson and wife Christi (Stumpf), Amber Gindlesperger and husband Robert Jr., and Mikayla Ranker; one great granddaughter, Abigail Gindlesperger; a brother Ronald Ranker and wife Maxine (Kegg) of Doylestown and several nieces and nephews.

He worked for Charles Bingman Masonry and was a member of the NHRA. He attended Gravel Pit United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening; and sharing his bounty and conversation with his many friend and family.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Kenneth Haines officiating.

Burial will be private.
