George Stanley “Stan” Hansrote Jr.

McConnellsburg, PA – George Stanley “Stan” Hansrote Jr., 65 of McConnellsburg, formerly of Ellerslie, MD, died Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at WMHS Regional Medical Center.

Born October 4, 1946, in Cumberland, MD; he was a son of the late George S. Hansrote Sr. and Eva Mae (Miller) Hansrote Woodrum.

He is survived by his children, Jamie L. Hansrote of Johnstown and George S. Hansrote III of McConnellsburg; a step father, Donald “Woodie” Woodrum of Ellerslie, MD; brothers, William “Frank” Hansrote of San Mateo, CA; Donald L. Hansrote and wife Joyce of Ellerslie, MD; step sister, Rosemary R. Booth and husband David of Delta PA; step brother, Donald D. Addison of Roanoke, VA and several nieces and nephews.

Stan worked at JLG for 18 years. He was a US Navy Veteran, serving during Vietnam. He attended the Ellerslie United Methodist Church and was a member of the Kennells Mill Sportsmen’s Club, Hyndman Rod and Gun Club and the Buffalo Mills Sportsmen’s Club. He enjoyed the outdoors, cars and spending time with his family.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday at the Ellerslie United Methodist Church from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the Church on Saturday at 11 p.m. with the Rev. Ted Marsh officiating.

Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale.
