George William Holler

Corriganville, MD  George William Holler, 87, of Corriganville, died Wednesday March 16, 2011 at WMHS Regional Medical Center.

Born February 5, 1924 in Hyndman PA; he was a son of the late Robert Raymond and Nellie Marie (DeVore) Holler. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ursula C. (Hartman) Holler; and a brother Earl Holler.

He is survived by a son George Randall “Randy” Holler and wife Cindy of Mount Savage; grandchildren, Randa Beckwith and husband Michael of Severn, Tiffany Crowe and husband Bruce of Cresaptown, Ginger Parsons and husband Billy of Roanoke VA, Heidi Holler of Indiana, PA, Cindy Parker and husband Robert of Cumberland and Robert Holler of LaVale; and nine great grandchildren.

Mr. Holler was retired from the Maryland Highway Administration, where he was a Chief Engineer in heavy highway construction. He served in the US Army Air Corps during WWII and was the recipient of three Purple Hearts.

He was a life member of the Oscar Jordan VFW Post 7375 and served as past commander, American Legion Post 113, Lifetime member of the Old Bastards Club, Hyndman Masonic Lodge #589 F&AM; as well as a life member of Rocky Ridge Sportsmens, Barrelville Outdoor Club, Kennells Mill Sportsmens Club, Piney Mountain Sportsmens Club, North American Hunting Club and the North American Fishing Club.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A Masonic service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 8 p.m.

A remembrance service will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m.

Burial will follow at Madley Cemetery with Military Honors by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.
