Helen R. Miller, 96, of Buffalo Mills, PA, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, January 26, 2010, at UPMC Bedford Memorial.

Born February 19, 1913, in Buffalo Mills, PA, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Bertha (Smith) Miller. She married John H. Miller on September 1, 1931. He preceded her in death on January 9, 1998, that ended a marriage union of 66 years. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Ralph, Merle, Ray and Lee Miller; sisters, Mae Miller and Emma Smith; a grandson, James Miller; a great grandson, Andrew John Wentz; and a great grandson-in-law, Derek Weaver.

She is survived by children, Anna wife of Harold Miller of Buffalo Mills, Yvonne wife of Ivan Wentz of New Paris and Elaine wife of Earl Shroyer of Hyndman; grandchildren, Ken Miller of York, PA, Linda wife of Rick Cloud of Manns Choice, John Wentz and wife Angela of Taos, NM, Kathy wife of Michael Swartwelder of Everett and Erica wife of Eric Blank of Hyndman; great grandchildren, Rick Whiteman, Nicholas Miller, Cassie wife of Jeremy Kreiser, Christy wife of Dominic Foster, Lori Weaver, Jenna Cloud, Samantha Swartzwelder, and Brittany Swartzwelder; great great grandchildren, Mandy and Chae Whiteman, Shelby and Lexi Miller, Kaleb and Cole Foster.

She was a devoted wife, mother and grandparent. She enjoyed gardening and taking care of her pretty flowers. She had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed having visitors. She loved her family and was always ready to lend a helping hand. She along with her husband received a certificate for voting 50 consecutive years.

She was a lifelong member of the former Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church where she once played the piano and taught Sunday School. She was a member of the Ladies Aid Society and had many quilting parties with her friends. When Pleasant Ridge closed she became a member of Buffalo Mills United Methodist Church.

She was also a member of the Hyndman Senior Citizens where she had many special friends. She loved greatly and was greatly loved and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at Buffalo Mills United Methodist Church, 164 Church St., Buffalo Mills on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Rev.
Mark Griffith officiating.

Burial will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Juniata Twp., Bedford County.
