Obituary

Joseph Earl Lightcap, Sr., 81, of Shepherdstown, WV, died Tuesday February 9, 2010 at his residence.

Born June 3, 1928 in Great Cacapon, WV, he was a son of the late David Harris and Bertha Jane (Foreback) Lightcap. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald Lightcap and a sister, Annie Ralston.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Minnie Irene (Emerick) Lightcap, whom he married September 18, 1949; a son Joseph E. Lightcap Jr. of Shepherdstown, daughters, Susan Tillett and husband Jerry, Deborah Cullison all of Martinsburg WV, a brother David Lightcap of Bakerton Wv; 13 greadchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; special friends, Ruth and Robert Farmer and family, Cathleen Cook, Ella Doleman and her son, Cornell.

Mr. Lightcap served in the US Air Force during WWII. He attended Comps Church in Wellersburg, PA. He was a Electrician for Warren Electrical Company.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Friday February 12th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday February 13th at 11 a.m. with Reverends Ed Shockey and Roger Huffman officiating.

Burial will be private at Mt. Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Fairhope, PA.
