Leo Milton Emerick

Leo Milton Emerick, 83, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Sunday, June 10, 2012, at Donahoe Manor, Bedford, PA after a long and courageous battle against Leukemia.

Born February 28, 1929, in Southampton Township, Somerset County , PA; he was a son of the late Clarence B. and Saloma Viola (Clites) Emerick. He was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Delores J. Emerick, who died in 1989; daughter-in-law, Wilma L. Emerick; brothers, John and Ray Emerick; sisters, Blanche Ohler, Lillie Osborne, and Eva (Sissy) Emrick.

He is survived by his son, Edward L. Emerick and fianc, Diane Dunmeyer; a grandson, Matthew E. Emerick and wife, Stephanie; four great-grandchildren, Tyler, Sarah, Daniel, and Kailee, who affectionately called him Pap Pap; sisters, Annie Deneen and husband Leroy, Ilene Kennell, both of Hyndman, PA, Ruby Shroyer of Cumberland; brothers, Vernon and Chester Emerick all of Hyndman, Curtis Emerick of Lewes, DE; and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Emerick worked at Bethlehem Steel Mill in Johnstown, PA for 30 years. He was a lifetime member of the Kennell’s Mill Sportsman’s Club and served in the US Army.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m.

Funeral Service will be conducted at Solid Rock Independent Baptist Church, Corriganville, MD on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Dr. John L Klink, Sr. officiating.

Burial will follow at Comps Cemetery.
