Fayetteville, NC – Leonard “Lenny” Carl Kendall, 54, of Fayetteville, NC passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September, 28, 2011, at the Cape Fear Valley Hospital.

Born on August 10, 1957, in Cumberland, MD; he was the son of David “Sam” L. and Janet M (Snyder) Kendall of Ellerslie, MD.

He is survived by his wife, Maria Elena Ayala-Kendall whom he married on October 9th, 2010.; a son, Aaron T. Kendall of Cumberland, MD, his parents, David “Sam” and Janet Kendall of Ellerslie, MD, two sisters, Tonyia L. Miller of Thurmont, MD and Angela Kendall Ashenfelter of Ellerslie, MD, grandmother, Ethel Snyder of Frostburg, MD; a step daughter, Carmen E. Abudo and step grandson, Jessiah both of Bronx, NY. He will also be remembered by his former wife, Tina Kendall of Cumberland.

Lenny was a graduate of Mt. Savage High School in 1975 and within a few years moved to Fayetteville to work with the Kelly Springfield Tire Company. After 33 years of continued service he finished as a fork truck driver with the now named Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. Lenny was a member of the Local 959 Steel Workers Union. He was a member earlier in his career with the Code Team at his work.

Lenny loved to “tinker” with projects around his home, hunt, fish, and spend as much time as possible with his family.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11a.m. with Pastor Ken Korns and Pastor Greg Miller officiating.

Burial will follow at Madley Cemetery, Buffalo Mills, PA, with David Weires, Jody Eversole, Michael Lease, Tim Lease, Harry Keller and Cody Weese serving as pallbearers.
