Louis Eugene Spinks
Germantown, MD – Louis Eugene Spinks, 59, of Germantown, MD, died Friday September 27, 2013 at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital, Rockville, MD.
Born December 30, 1953 in Hempstead, TX; he was a son of the late Louis Harm and Lillian Beatrice (Foster) Spinks. He is also preceded in death by sisters, Lillian Williams and Kathryn Farguson; a brother in law, John C. Miller Jr.
Survived by his wife of 39 years, Linda S. (Miller) Spinks; whom he married, January 12, 1974; daughters, Jennifer Marie Spinks, of Germantown, Frances Marie Ledbetter of Grand Island, NE; brothers, Sam Spinks and wife Dottie of Odessa, TX, David “Boss” Spinks of Livingston, TX, a sister, Carol Sue Hernandez and husband Lee of Livingston, TX; a mother-in-law, Mildred Miller, Hyndman; brothers-in-law, Billy Williams, Brookshire, TX, David R. Miller and wife Barbara, Hyndman; a sister-in -law Linda Miller, Hyndman; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Spinks did security work for different companies. He served in the United States Marine Corps. during Vietnam and then re-enlisted into US. Army for several years. He was a member of the Fort Hill Rifle and Pistol Club, American Legion, Sons of Confederate Veterans, and a life member of the Nation Rifle Association. He enjoyed hunting, politics, genealogy and playing the guitar.
Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. and on Monday from 10 to 11 a.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 11a.m. with Rev. Terry Campbell officiating
Burial will follow at Hyndman Cemetery.
