Mae Jean Kennedy
Hyndman, PA Mae Jean Kennedy, 85, of Hyndman, went to be with the Lord Saturday, July 13, 2013, at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore.
She was born October 12, 1927, in Somerset, PA; a daughter of the late Edmund and Mary (Shaffer) Phillippi. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, W. LaVon Kennedy; a grandson, Dustin R. Miller; a brother, Stanley Phillippi, and a sister, Betty Leydig.
She is survived by a son, Donald L. Kennedy and wife Nan of Hyndman; a daughter, Annette M. Miller and husband Robert of Hyndman; four grandchildren, Beth Toner and husband Seth; Marge Urbas and husband Brad; Joan Kennedy, and Seth Miller; one great grandson, Elijah Job Toner; a brother, Ray Phillippi and wife Shirley of Sarasota, FL; many nieces and nephews.
She retired from Hoblitzell Bank in Hyndman where she was a teller for over 25 years.
She attended Central Assembly of God, in Cumberland and First United Methodist Church in Hyndman. She was a member of the Hyndman VFW Ladies Auxiliary and she volunteered at the Hyndman Londonderry Library. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc. 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Tom Gulbronson officiating.

Burial will follow at Hyndman Cemetery with Donald Kennedy, Bob Miller, Seth Miller, Seth Toner, Brad Urbas and Adam Mabee serving as pallbearers.
