Wellersburg, PA – Pearl O. “Oie” Kennell, died January 4, 2011, at Frostburg Nursing and Rehab, where she had been a resident since November 8, 2010.

Born October 20, 1918, in Sunnyside, MD; she was a daughter of the late Marvin and Stella (Bridges) Conaway. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jay H. Kennell, Sr. in 1986; a brother, Albert W. Conaway; sisters, Virginia R. Shaffer and Lena G. Witt.

She is survived by a son, Jay H. Kennell, Jr. and his wife, Mary Kay of Wellersburg; granddaughters, Heather Kennell of Harrisonburg, VA and Melissa Walsh and husband, Joe of Ephrata, PA; one special great granddaughter, Anika N. Walsh.

She is also survived by special nieces and nephews, Barbara and Charles Gyauch of Winchester, VA; and Jon and Rita Witt of Corriganville, MD.

Mrs. Kennell was a homemaker and member of Zion Lutheran Reformed Church, Wellersburg.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jim Jeffries officiating.

Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale, MD.

The family would like to thank caregivers Dianne Dunmeyer and Donna Lee, staff of the Kensington and Frostburg Nursing and Rehab for their help and loving care. They are angels.
