Ronald S. “Ring” Clites

Ronald S. “Ring” Clites, 84, of Hyndman, PA, went to be with the Lord Monday, November 26, 2012, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born July 14, 1928, in Ellerslie, MD; he was a son of the late Roy C. Sr. and Lula Carrie (Snowden) Clites.

He was also preceded in death by brothers, Paul M. Clites, Gerald Montell Clites and Roy Clites Jr.; and a sister, Jean Liebegott.

Survived by his wife of 59 years, Marlene R. (Kreigline) Clites, whom he married June 21, 1953; a son, Randy E. Clites and wife Cammy of Ellerslie; daughters, Pamela (Clites) Bruck and husband Timothy of Fairhope, Lori (Clites) Chase of Hyndman; a granddaughter, Dana Hankinson and husband Shane of Butler; and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Clites was an operator on the B&O Railroad and later CSX retiring in 1986 after 33 years of service.

He was a life member of the Redeemer’s United Church of Christ, Ellerslie, where he sang in the choir, taught Sunday school for 14 years, and served on the UCC Consistory.

He played left field for the Pen Mar Baseball League in Hyndman. He was a life member of the National Rifle Association, as well as an avid fisherman, hunter and model railroader.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Tomislav Dosch officiating.

Burial will follow at Cooks Mills Cemetery, Hyndman.
