Taryn Marie “Pete” Greise, 6, of Hyndman passed away December 25, 2009.

Born June 7, 2003 in Bedford, PA, she was a daughter of Brandon John Greise Sr. and Misty Marie (Hirschmann) Greise.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Lance Michael Greise, a cousin, Sean Greise, great grandfathers, Howard Corley and James Whitford Jr. and a great uncle, Mark Headley.

She is survived by her parents of Hyndman; a sister, Courtney Jane Greise and a brother, Brandon John Greise Jr., both at home; paternal grandparents, Thomas A. Jr. and Suellen E. (Wilhelm) Greise of Henrico County, NC; maternal grandparents, James R. Whitford III of Hyndman; Janie Corley of CA; paternal great grandparents, Eldon and Charlotte Mowry of Cumberland and Clinton and Ethel Wilhelm of Centerville; maternal great grandparents, Barbara Corley of CA, Martha Whitford of Bedford, aunts and uncles, Kesha Keel and husband Justin, Carrie Whitford, Stevie Hirschmann, James R. Whitford IV, Chris Greise, Daniel Scism and girlfriend Kim, Brad Greise and wife Shelly, Eric Greise and wife Chartich, Joy Greise, Marion Greise; cousins, Daisy, Bryan Jr., Joey, Connor, Hannah, Brea, Haley, Saleen, and Matthew; and special friends, Becky, Cali, Mrs. Shelly and Blake.

Taryn was in 1st grade at Hy-Lo Elementary School.

Princess Pete touched many people’s hearts in her short life. Along with her swimming, biking, and dressing up her cat, little girl, she enjoyed being in daisies, although she decided not to join this year. She wanted to play basketball instead. Pete enjoyed laughing and making others laugh. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.

Friends will be received at Harvey H. Zeigler funeral home Inc., 169 Clarence St Hyndman on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m.

Burial will follow at Hyndman Cemetery with James Williams III, Kevin Helms, Tammy Kennell, Dan Scism, Adam Dawson and Chris Stahlman serving as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the funeral home to help defer funeral expenses.
