Obituary

Hyndman, PA – Ada V. Simpkins, 88, of Hyndman died July 5, 2016 at Allegany Nursing and Rehab.
She was born April 5, 1928, in Salisbury, PA; a daughter of the late William and Nellie (Ravenscroft) Simpkins. She was also preceded in death by her lifetime companion of 61 years, Idella Evans.
Ada was a 1946 graduate of Grantsville High School, 1949 graduate of Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, and a 1957 graduate of St Francis Hospital School of Anesthesia for Nurses, Pittsburgh, PA.  She was a member of Calvary Bible Church. She was employed as a Registered Nurse and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist at Memorial Hospital for over four decades.
She is survived by a half-sister, Linda Wilkins, Woodbridge, VA; Idella’s sister-in-law, Jean Evans, Hyndman; and her nieces and nephews, Gregory R. Evans of Hyndman, Polly Groves of Buffalo Mills, Glenna Bridges of Hyndman, David Evans of Tucson, AZ, Gail Sides of Vail, AZ; Karen Sides of Hamilton, OH; and several great nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Thursday for 6 to 8 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 11a.m. with Pastor Ken Korns officiating.
Burial will follow at Hyndman Cemetery.
