Cumberland, MD –  Alda M. Altizer, 75, 0f Cumberland passed away Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Peace Healthcare Mountain City, Frostburg.

Born November 28, 1947, in Cumberland; she was a daughter of the late Homer “Dimp” and Sarah Deloris (Bennett) Kennell. Also preceded in death by daughter, Vickie Swink.

Survived by son, Russell George and wife Kim of Sykesville, son-in-law, Stewart Swink of Cresaptown, grandsons, Rusty and Michael George, William and Andrew Swink; brothers, Lynn Kennell and wife Betty of Fort Ashby, WV, Glenn Kennell and wife Dawn of Finksburg, sisters, Linda Rosenberger of Frostburg, Jenny Lopez and husband Rev. Peter Lopez of Spring Hill, FL; many nieces and nephews.

Alda was a graduate of Hyndman High School. She worked in retail all her life, most recently she was a cashier at Weis Supermarket. She was member of Cresaptown United Methodist Church.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman, Thursday September 7, 2023 from 6 to 8 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday September 8, 2023, at 11 a.m. Viewing one hour prior.

Burial will follow at Porter Cemetery.
