Hyndman, PA – Betty Jane Housel, 96, of Hyndman passed away Saturday November 7, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family.

Born July 14, 1924 in Fairhope; she was a daughter of the late Paul Henry and Eva (Perdew) Deremer.

She was also preceded in death by her husband Eugene Housel, a son, Michael Housel, son-in-law, Gary Shaffer; sister, Mary Hare, brothers, Paul Dermer and James Deremer.

Survived by children, Donna Shaffer of Flinton, PA; David housel of Hyndman, daughter-in-law, Neva Housel of Hyndman, grandchildren, Kimberly Boone and husband Joseph of Fairfax, VA, Kristi Foist and husband Jason of Rio Rancho, NM; Missy Housel of Hyndman; four great grandchildren, Nathaniel, Samuel, Samantha, and Logan; many nieces and nephews.

Betty retired from Memorial Hospital as a Nursing Assistant. After retirement she did home elderly care for many local people. She was a life member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Hyndman Senior Center.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Wednesday November 11, 2020 from 10 to 11 a.m. where a service will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. JoAnn Dermer officiating.
