Kennells Mill, PA – Betty Marie (Merkle) Huffman, 94, of Kennells Mill, went to be with the Lord on Thursday October 3, 2019 at Meyersdale Healthcare.

Born February 11, 1925 in Fairhope, PA; she was a daughter of the late George R. and Hulda (Richardson) Merkle. Mrs. Huffman was also preceded in death by her husband, Harvey L. Huffman, whom she married June 13, 1942; a son, James L. Huffman, a grandson, Seth Baughman; brothers, Lee, Don, Darris, Dewey, Victor and Harry Merkel; sisters, Doris and Beverly Merkel, Jean Dietz, Shirley Emerick, and Helen Nair.

Survived by three sons, Roger D. and Mona L. (Dunmyer) Huffman and Carl E. and Jewell (Miller) Huffman, all of Kennells Mill, and Larry A. and Carol J. (Reese) Huffman, Wellersburg, PA; two daughters, Brenda J. Huffman Poe, who was her primary caregiver,  and Dorothy M. and husband James “Jim” Baughman, all of Kennells Mill; a brother, John Dermer, Warren, OH; a sister, Alma Custer, Kennells Mill;  12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. Huffman was a dedicated member of Comps Church.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Roger Huffman, her son, officiating.

Burial will follow at Hyndman Cemetery.
