Carl, who was known as Doug to his family, was born May 27, 1961, in Meyersdale.
He was the son of George and Cinda (Ohler) Emerick.
He was preceded in death by his father, George A. Emerick, and a brother, David Emerick.
He is survived by his wife, Faye (Baker) Emerick; daughters, Tawney Emerick and Linzi Emerick; and his dog and best companion, Rolf; sisters, Edith Mills and husband, Gary, Jennifer Smihal and husband, John; niece, Rebecca Smihal; nephew, Zachary Mills; sisters-in-law, Linda Burgess, Cathy Clayton and husband, Stanley, Joanna DuVall and husband, Greg, Deborah Hormuth and husband, Paul; mother-in-law, Leona Baker, his porch buddy.
Carl and Faye met at her family’s cabin in Fairhope when Faye was 15 and Carl was 18.
They fell in love; and after only six years of dating, they married on June 22, 1985.
Carl and Faye have two beautiful daughters whom he loved so much.
Six years ago, they added his favorite companion, Rolf, to the family.
Carl and Rolf were inseparable. He trained Rolf and walked him every day.
Carl would always stop and talk to everyone on his walks.
Carl was a member of Western Maryland Street Rod Association.
Carl’s been an active Hot Rodder for 40 years. He was adamant that he was a hot rodder and not a street rodder.
